For the Wild Places
That Stay With you
The world no longer has many blank spaces left on the map.
Few of us will ever follow Roosevelt through East Africa, paddle the Amazon in search of the unknown, or stand where no one has stood before.
Yet the desire to explore has never disappeared.
It lives in the trail we return to every autumn, in a quiet morning at camp, and in teaching the next generation to respect good tools and wild places.
Ironwood Outfitters exists to preserve that spirit by creating heirloom-quality knives and outdoor goods inspired by the legacy of history's greatest explorers.
The tools we carry don't make us explorers.
They remind us that we already are.

I’ve always been fascinated with Bob Loveless’ knives. They’ve never been the fanciest or the most advanced, but incredibly simple, clean, and functional. I wanted to use some of his design elements mixed with my own aesthetic to create knives that have a dash of his work, but are also uniquely mine. This features the traditional tapered tang and Loveless “chute” handle style, brass pinned and soldered guard, a 3/4 hollow instead of full hollow, and a clip point blade.
